Established in 1982, the BEGIN is a not-for-profit partnership has long supported adults across Nottinghamshire with Literacy, Numeracy, and ESOL needs, while advising organisations on areas such as Basic Skills funding and teacher-training requirements. Based at Nottingham College, BEGIN now serves as the central information, advice, and placement service for ESOL in Nottingham, providing screening, initial assessments, and signposting to ensure learners are matched with the most suitable courses and support.
